2018 information will be udated soon for 2019
If your child was born between 2010 and 2013 they are eligible to play Auskick in 2018. Registration for Auskick can be completed here: www.aflauskick.com.au. Just enter 'Newtown Swans' in the Centre Locator.
For more information about registering for Auskick, please email moc.kooltuo@kciksuasnawsnwotwen.
New players are always welcome! Please read the information below and contact us if you have any other questions.
Player grouping is based on the age that a player will turn in the calendar year. eg if your child has turned or will turn 7 in 2017 they will play in the Under 7s regardless of the month in which their birthday occurs.
Players born in 2013 will play in Under 5s.
Players born in 2012 will play in Under 6s
Players born in 2011 will play in Under 7s
Players born in 2010 will play in Under 8s
Occasionally players may play ‘up’ an age group, but this needs to be approved by the Auskick Coordinator, Arvind Sampath, in consultation with the relevant coaches and club Registrar.
Players born before 2010 will play in the relevant Juniors or Youth team. Registration for these age groups is different. Please see 'Join Our Club' page.
Training is on Wednesday nights 5pm. Starting in March (exact date yet to be set).
Start date and games times are yet to be confirmed by the AFL, but in 2017 the game times were:
- u5s and u6s - 8:10am
- U7s - 9am
- U8s - 10am
The Newtown Swans home games are at Alan Davidson Oval (ADO) at Sydney Park. Away games are played against other clubs in the Sydney City area. Paddington, Maroubra, Drummoyne, Concord, Glebe, Ashbury and Moore Park.
The club provides socks and shorts to players. The launder of these items is the responsibility of the parents. For returning players who already have socks and shorts that fit, please re use them.
This year the packs are being emailed directly to players. The pack mailouts are due to commence the week beginning March 6.
Jumpers remain the property of Newtown Swans.
Numbered ‘Newtown Swans’ jerseys are distributed to players on game day and laundered by a parent volunteer each week ready for the next game day. Many Auskickers choose to wear football boots to help prevent slipping on field, however regular runners are fine if the player is comfortable wearing them!
Please make sure that your child has an adult at all games and training sessions. Parent assistance at training is always appreciated!
Newtown Swans is run entirely by volunteers.
We need you! All families will need to help out with canteen or BBQ duties during home games. The club can only exist thanks to the dedication of our volunteers so please get involved! Check out our ‘Volunteers’ page at www.newtownswans.com.au to find out some of the other ways that you can help out at the club!
