Player grouping is based on the age that a player will turn in the calendar year. eg if your child has turned or will turn 7 in 2021 they will play in the Under 7s regardless of the month in which their birthday occurs.
- Players born in 2016 will play in Under 5s
- Players born in 2015 will play in Under 6s
- Players born in 2014 will play in Under 7s
- Players born in 2013 will play in Under 8s
Occasionally players may play ‘up’ an age group, but this needs to be approved by the Auskick Coordinator, in consultation with the relevant coaches and club Registrar.
Players born before 2012 will play in the relevant Juniors or Youth team. Registration for these age groups is different. Please see ‘Join Our Club‘ page.
Training would traditionally be on a Wednesday evening at 5.00pm. Date for start of training to be announced closer to season start.
Season starts officially in May – but we hope to start on 17 April with the Juniors teams. To aid planning, in 2019 the game times were:
- u5s and u6s – 8:10am
- U7s – 9am
- U8s – 10am

The club provides socks and shorts to players. The launder of these items is the responsibility of the parents. For returning players who already have socks and shorts that fit, please re use them.
Jumpers remain the property of Newtown Swans.
Numbered ‘Newtown Swans’ jerseys are distributed to players at the start of the season, and are to be taken home and laundered by you, the parent/caregiver after each weekend, so it’s ready for the next weekend. Many Auskickers choose to wear football boots to help prevent slipping on field, however regular runners are fine if the player is comfortable wearing them!
make sure that your child has an adult at all games and training
sessions. Parent assistance at training is always appreciated!
Newtown Swans is run entirely by volunteers.
We need you! All families will need to help out with canteen or BBQ duties during home games. The club can only exist thanks to the dedication of our volunteers so please get involved! Check out our ‘Volunteers’ page at www.newtownswans.com.au to find out some of the other ways that you can help out at the club!
